To fully appreciate the music from shed studio you need to fully immerse yourself in the story behind the music…and like all good stories this one begins with a journey and a quest, Nelson Mandela once said in his 1994 inaugural speech “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure”. An interesting concept, sometimes we fear success more than failure, sometimes we fear showing our light to the world, so we hide it, in fear of embarrassment and ridicule…but if we hide it then what’s the point in having it? But then…

what is it?

So begins the story; Tales from the Shed Pt1is the beginning of the journey, the long slow awakening and realisation of something so basic and so fundamental to our being yet so suppressed and contained- a sixth sense, an intuition, an inner self, a soul. The part of us we know and feel is there, but the part of us that seems just out of our reach, the part we know is missing when we see a deceased loved one and realise its just an empty shell, but the part the cynical refuse to admit is there as it cant be bottled and labelled…but then again try bottling and labelling emotions, or thoughts, or ideas or love or dreams or even electricity or magnetism or so many other things that can’t be touched or felt or held but somehow we know they’re there. The part of us that intuitively feels warmth or distrust towards someone, the part of us that feels uneasy and on edge in places with a disturbing and chequered history, the part of us that so many political, religious and generally scared control freaks try to control and suppress and squash into submission, when it is the only part of us that has all the freedom of the universe and should never be controlled by governments, politics or religions.  A young man once commented to a wise Shaman teacher “you must know so much” the teacher replied by saying, “look out over these vast rolling hills of grass” he then picked one blade of grass and continued, “in comparison I know this much”,

Tales from the Shed Pt 1 is the beginning of the story, but unlike most stories it’s your own story to make in your own time and at you own pace, but don’t leave it to long… we don’t have long on this earth.
